The 1964 NFL Championship Game was the 32nd annual championship game, held on December 27 at Cleveland Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio with an attendance of 79,544, it was the first NFL title game to be televised by CBS.
The game marked the last championship won by a major-league professional sports team from Cleveland until 2016, when the Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Finals.
The Baltimore Colts finished the 1964 regular season with a record of 12–2 and handily won the Western Conference for the first time since 1959, clinching the title with three games remaining. The Colts were led by second-year head coach Don Shula and quarterback Johnny Unitas. This was the Colts' third NFL championship game appearance since joining the National Football League in 1953, seeking to win their first since repeating in 1959.
The Cleveland Browns finished the regular season with a record of 10–3–1, winning the Eastern Conference by a half game. The Browns were led by second-year head coach Blanton Collier, quarterback Frank Ryan, running back Jim Brown, and receivers Gary Collins and rookie Paul Warfield. This was the Browns' eighth NFL championship game appearance since joining the NFL in 1950, but the first in seven years.
The Browns dominated the statistics over the favored Colts. Unitas completed 12 of 20 passes for only 95 yards with two interceptions. The Colts managed only 92 yards rushing. Ryan hit on 11 of 18 tosses for 206 yards and three TDs. The Browns' Collins set a title game record with three touchdown catches in one game, and grabbed five passes for 130 yards total. Groza kicked field goals of 42 and 10 yards, and Brown carried the ball 27 times for 114 yards. Linebacker, Vince Costello. intercepted a Unitas pass to end the first half.
The starting linebackers gave the Browns a huge lift on defense. They were:
Vincent Costello (April 8, 1932 – June 22, 2019) was an American football linebacker who played 12 seasons in the National Football League for the Cleveland Browns (1956–1966) and New York Giants (1967–1968). He later coached with Paul Brown as linebackers coach for the Cincinnati Bengals (1969–1973); Miami Dolphins (1974) and the Kansas City Chiefs (until his retirement).
Galen Fiss (July 30, 1931 – July 17, 2006) was an American football linebacker who played 11 seasons with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). Fiss was captain on Cleveland's NFL championship team in 1964. Fiss, who had Alzheimer's disease, died of cardiac arrest in 2006. Fiss was inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
James Edward Houston (November 3, 1937 – September 11, 2018) was an American football linebacker who played 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Cleveland Browns. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
All three of the starting linebackers on the Cleveland Browns’ 1964 Championships team are now deceased. This makes this authentically signed art print very valuable.
    About Us
We have been in the autograph and memorabilia business for over 35 years. All of our autographs were acquired in person. To guarantee that our items were authentically obtained, we have done work for or attended over three hundred charity-celebrity golf outings in the last ten years We have booked numerous sports stars to signings. Our inventory numbers several thousands of items.  We have earned a great reputation through the high quality products that we offer for sale.
In 1993 we were approached by Heisman trophy winner, Vic Janowicz to produce an art print for him to be used for charity functions. It was because of Vic's first print that we began to commission artists to create high quality action prints of other famous athletes. The majority of the pieces that were produced by our company are signed and numbered by the artist and then authentically autographed by the athlete or athletes. All of our items come with a certificate of authenticity providing you with a guarantee without time limit.
Unlike most "limited edition prints" where the number of prints made is usually between 500 to 2000, most of our prints were produced in smaller quantities. Our average print run on each lithograph is normally under 150 with some of our runs are
as low as 60. Our small production runs have caused the value of some of our prints to soar in value to over ten times their original retail sale price. Some of our "sold out" prints, which originally retailed for forty dollars, have been sold for as high as six hundred dollars.
We produce a small production run of each limited edition print, so that your purchase becomes a collectors item, as well as an attractive addition to your home or office.
Even though we offer memorabilia for all sports, this site mainly displays Ohio State and Cleveland Browns memorabilia. As a company, we have produced more approved art prints for Ohio State than all the other artists combined in the history of the school. If you would like information on memorabilia that we have for other teams or sports, please email us. We welcome any more questions that you might have about our items or our company.
